Now that NYAF is gone…

I kind of implied that I would be going to NYAF during the past several months. But now, with NYAF basically gone, I will only go if one of these conditions are met:

  1. If I find people that will go: It is quite possible that I will find a group of people that will go with me, but from last year, I’ve learned to take that with a grain of salt. I will only go if
  2. A really good guest appears: Maybe Hanazawa Kana, or a Vocaloid concert, or any other seiyuu I really like.
  3. If I can get a DOG DAYS and/or Sword Art Online cosplay group going: Considering that I’m currently failing to find cosplayers that will do a DOG DAYS or Sword Art Online group, this is a long shot. I will say now that I am willing to provide some financial help (not a lot since I don’t have much money right now) for those that are willing to cosplay as Millhiore (for DOG DAYS) or Asuna (for SAO) and will fit the part. I don’t usually want to do that, but it seems that money is a big factor here.

Finalized Cosplay Plans for AnimeNEXT/Anime Expo (Still Looking for Cosplay Partner)

Though I’ve already decided who I’ll be, I’ve decided what days I will cosplay who during AnimeNEXT and Anime Expo. I still don’t know about who I’ll cosplay during Otakon and NYAF.

AnimeNEXT:

  1. Kagamine Len (kimono ver. for Friday)
  2. Shinku Izumi (DOG DAYS) (for Saturday)
  3. Amano Yukiteru (for Sunday)

Anime Expo:

  1. Kagamine Len (for Thursday)
  2. Shinku Izumi (for Friday)
  3. Ciel Phantomhive (for Saturday)
  4. Kagamine Len Human Sacrafice Alice ver. (for Sunday)
  5. Amano Yukiteru (for Monday)

Otakon (not finalized):

  2. Kagamine Len Servant of Evil ver. (?)
  3. Shinku Izumi (?)
  4. Amano Yukiteru (?)

That being said, I’m still looking for a cosplay partner. I know I keep on bugging everyone about this, but this is the only way I can think of that would possibly work. Lone Cosplayers/Con-Goers Meetup

Do you want to go to anime conventions with other people but don’t know anyone to go with? Are you not good with meeting new people? Are you shy and timid? No problem!

Last year at Anime Expo, I planned a meetup for people who usually went to conventions alone. Though not many people came, I believe that it was a success, so I wanted to try this here.

I’m planning a meetup for con-goers and cosplayers that typically go alone. The only requirement? That you’re friendly and you respect the others! Even if you’re not going alone, you’re free to join. If you’re shy and timid, don’t worry. I’m pretty shy and timid myself, but you need to start somewhere! Right?

Looking for a Cosplay Partner

I have been cosplaying alone for several years, but I’ve always wanted a cosplay partner or be part of a cosplay group. I’m a 24 year old male, 5’6″, looking for a female cosplayer in the NJ/NY area that will be my cosplay partner. I typically cosplay Kagamine Len (VOCALOID), Ciel Phantomhive (Kuroshitsuji), and Shinku Izumi (DOG DAYS) [I have a more extensive list here], but I am willing to cosplay other characters assuming that I like the outfit and assuming I have the money.

I will be going to AnimeNEXT, Anime Expo, Otakon, and NYAF this year, but I am willing to go to other conventions nearby and do photoshoots, again, assuming I have the time and money. I’m kind of a quiet person, but I can easily open up to people once I know them.

Still Looking for DOG DAYS/Sword Art Online Cosplayers

Though I’m still looking for a cosplay partner, my top priority is currently to find DOG DAYS cosplayers going to AnimeNEXT, Anime Expo, Otakon, and NYAF/NYCC, since I will be cosplaying Shinku for probably all of those conventions. Not Going to Sakura Matsuri

Reasons for going to Sakura Matsuri:

  • I get to cosplay
  • I get to see cosplayers
  • I could make friends (hah, yea right, considering I can’t talk)

Reasons for not going to Sakura Matsuri:

  • 5 hours of my time wasted to just get there and stay for less than that
  • I have projects due
  • I need to study
  • I’ll be tired to work after I go

Unfortunately, it looks like there are more cons than pros, so I guess I’m not going. I would have more likely went if I had friends that would go with me, but this school work is just too much.

I guess to make up for it, I’ll do a photoshoot at Rutgers Gardens after I’m done with everything.

Rutgers Day Summary

Saw several people I didn’t see in some time, got to cosplay and walk around College Ave., Busch, and Douglass, and helped out JVCA. I would say that Rutgers Day was a good day! Now to start work hell (T_T)

His name is Isley and he is a second-year graduate student, dressed as “Shinku Izumi” from Dog Days.  Check out the actual cartoon and see the resemblance!  I admire cosplayers mostly because of the confidence with which they carry themselves. Isley was not going to a convention or even a get-together, he was just dressing up to be Shinku Izumi for a day! Margarita Rosario Yup, it’s actually me.
